What Are SENT Groups?

Simply put, they are small groups with an outward focus. We have chosen the acronym S.E.N.T. to remind us that small groups are not just about us and our needs, but that we are also sent to be on mission with God wherever we find ourselves.

Hebrews 10:24-25 captures the essence of what we believe small groups should be about:

24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another-- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

We want our small groups not only to serve each other, but to regularly find a way of serving their neighbors and neighborhood in which they meet.

We want our small groups to be more than just superficial relationships. Our groups must be safe places where members can be open and honest with each other. We also want our group members to be intentional about building authentic relationships with any person God brings into their lives.

Our groups must be places where the member's faith is nurtured and grows through Bible study and prayer. We also want our groups to express their faith in tangible ways.

Our groups will result in the transformation of lives both inside and outside the group...lives that look more and more like Jesus'.
